新聞熱詞：取消參賽資格

　　國際奧委會新聞發言人戴維斯在8月12日召開的新聞發布會上宣布，西班牙自行車選手瑪麗亞?莫里諾在北京奧運會興奮劑檢查中被發現使用促紅細胞生成素(EPO)，已經被取消參賽資格。

　　Davies said Moreno, 27, had been stripped of her Games accreditation and the matter had been referred to the International Cycling Union (UCI).

　　戴維斯表示，27歲的莫里諾已被取消參賽資格，此事已上報國際自行車聯盟。

　　Strip在這里是“剝奪”的意思，，而accreditation是“鑒定合格” 的意思，因此“取消某人參賽資格”就是strip someone of one's Games accreditation；那么，“某人被取消參賽資格”就是someone be stripped of one's Games accreditation。在上述表達中，strip也可以用deprive這個詞來代替。以此類推，“剝奪某人某物”就是strip someone of something，例如：The court order stripped him of everything in his possession.（法庭下令剝奪了他的一切財產。）
